Major Hon. Sir Francis Michael Legh was born on 2 August 1919.2 He was the son of Richard William Davenport Legh, 3rd Baron Newton and Hon. Helen Winifred Meysey-Thompson.2 He married Ruadh Daphne Watson, daughter of Alan Holmes Watson, on 16 November 1948.2 He died on 26 October 1984 at age 65 at Lambeth, London, England.2,3
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.2 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.2 He gained the rank of Major in the Grenadier Guards.2 He was Assistant Private Secretary and Equerry to HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother between 1956 and 1959.2 He was Equerry to HM Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother between 1956 and 1984.2 He was Private Secretary to HRH Princess Margaret between 1959 and 1971.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.) in 1968.1 He was Private Secretary and Treasurer to HRH Princess Margaret between 1972 and 1984.2

FRANCIS LEGH , son of Lord Newton , at St . George's Church , Hanover Square , London. The bride wore an 18-inch waist '' Tube-Look '' wedding gown by Lorian , embroidered in seed Pearls and Crystals , with a 10-yard train . Her Juliet cap was hand embodied in a motif design of crystal drops and opalescent pearls. The name Ruadh being Gaelic for red , the bridesmaid's all wore red and velvet .
